Swingin Harpoon
From a lifetime love of blues & swing influence, and after being everyone else's harmonica player, Mike ‘Salty’ Lanigan conceptualized a swingingblues band, then fine picked his musicians and started working on SWINGIN HARPOON,  performing original songs and quality covers. Music genres from big city blues, swing, rockabilly & funk.
Music with passion!

Blowing his first harp in a bar at age 14, Salty has learned the workings of the live music business.  Salty got his licks from early riffs of Magic Dick (J.Geils), Steve Cash (Ozark Mountain Daredevils), Fingers Taylor (Jimmy Buffet), and the Late Pat Ramsey....

Mike Lanigan (AKA Salty)....formed  Swingin Harpoon Blues Band   in 2007, after being everyone else's ' HARP PLAYER '.

Literally wearing out a 'Swingerhead (Michael Andrew) ' CD over a period of about 12 years, Salty finally acted on his swing interests and put Swingin Harpoon Blues Band together

(Salty) was born in Tarpon Springs Fl., and always ‘tinkered' with musical instruments. Salty started blowing harp at 14, learning his licks from two main sources....J. Geils Band , and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils. The two contrasting styles of music influenced Salty's harmonica style.

Salty's hard blowing licks and unique timing provide a unique harmonica flavor, enjoyed by all.

Other influences come from Pat Ramsey, William Clarke, Fingers Taylor, Johnny Winter, Michael Andrew, Lee Oskar, and many other artists over the years.

Salty has performed or opened for with such artists as Pat Ramsey, Eddie Kirkland, Joey Gilmore, Selwyn Birchwood, Major Bacon, Eric Culbertson, Cyde Ramsey, Jason Ricci, Bill ‘The Sauce Boss’ Wharton, J B ' s Zydeco Zoo, Sir Charles Atkins, Pat Buchanon, Herbie Mann, Spyro Gyra, Georgia Satellites, Atlanta Rhythym Section, Grace Slick & Starship, Julian Kasper, Billy Dean, Terry Clark, Tom Gribbon, T.C. Carr, Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Lawrence, Confederate Railroad, Billy Dean, Cathy Cotton, Tracy Byrd, Joe Nichols, Lee Ann Womack, Mark Collie, Jeanie Sealy, Janie Fricke and many more.

Over the years, Salty has been a member of The Summer Brothers, Harpo, Brad Willis & The Southern Stars, Florida Band, Lost Companion Band, Southern Satisfaction, Barry Fish Band, Allie & The Allie Cats, Midnight Rain, The Saltwater Cowboy Band, Roadhouse, and is the founder and front man for Swingin Harpoon.

Swingin Harpoon Blues Band is a concept that Salty has envisioned for many years. Take the big sound of a swing big band and arrange blues harp into the mix with solid blues, and you have Swingin Harpoon Blues Band.  Swingin Harpoon Blues Band has been  booking regionally and in legendary venues such as Bradfordville Blues Club & Bullwinkles (Tallahassee Fl), The Melting Point (Athens GA), Pineapple Willies (Panama City Beach Fl), and many others. The reception from the crowds have been overwhelming. Swingin Harpoon Blues Band will be blowing near you soon.

American Without Prefix (2007 Indie), Swingin Harpoon Blues Band debut CD, met great critical reviews, and Swingin Harpoon Blues Band next CD (2009) is sure to have some swinging blues.

Salty has the passion, energy and experience for a memorable funky blues swing show.

Salty also performs as a solo act, 'The Saltwater Cowboy', and is well know in the North Florida Areas.

Salty blows on Hohner harps, using an Astatic Mic through a 1950 Danelectric or a 1965 Univox

jamie eubanks
vocals, guitar, slide guitar

Jamie Eubanks' first guitar was a cheap Squier Stratocaster, back in 2002 at the age of 11. Jamie played around on this guitar for a year and a half and took lessons from the great Missippy James (Pat Ramsey, JB's Zydeco Zoo), taking lessons for nearly a year. After taking lessons, Jamie dedicated his playing to jamming along with records of other musicians, sometimes up to 10 hours a day. Jamie practiced liked this for nearly 6 - 8 months until 2004 when Jamie started  going to watch bands like Rick Lollar and Pat Ramsey. Jamie loved their blend of blues!
In February of 2004, Jamie saw Kenny Neal at the Bradfordville Blues Club, and took that old Squier Stratocaster, and got Kenny Neal to sign this guitar.  After Kenny Neal signed the guitar, Kenny said ," I'll sign this guitar, but you got to get up and play with us." Jamie simply replied," Yes sure I will get up and sit-in." On Kenny's second set he called Jamie up, and while Kenny was playing his harp, Jamie was playing his old Squier Stratocaster. Although Jamie didn't get to play much that night, Jamie got a real passion for the blues and playing music. This motivation was enough to keep Jamie practicing at home 10 - 12 hours on the weekends, and 6 - 8 hours each day during the week.
Every time Jamie would go to the Bradfordville Blues Club, Jamie would always take his guitar and get whoever was playing that night to sign the guitar, and hopefully  get the opportunity to sit in. Jamie did join with many blues greats including: Sarasota Slim, Carl Weathersby, James Solberg, Pat Ramsey and the Disciples, The Rick Lollar Band, Chick Willis, Sonny Rhodes, W.C. Clark, Dr. Hector and the Groove Injectors, Johnnie Marshall, E.C.Scott, Andrew Jr. Boy Jones, Guitar Shorty, James Peterson, E.G. Kight, Anthony Gomes, The Willie Lomax Blues Revue, Eddie Kirkland, and one of Jamie's favorites,  Ronnie "baker" Brooks.
After sitting in with names like these Jamie,  realized how fortunate he was to sit in with such legendary blues musicians ! Jamie sitting in with such greats motivated Jamie to form his own band in May of 2004. Jamie's first gig was at the fourth of July fireworks show in Thomasville of 2004.
Jamie had many opportunities to play at different places around Thomasville, Tallahassee, Atlanta, and throughout the Southeast. and Jamie opened up for the great Clarence Carter back in October of 2004.

Jamie Produced and released ' Am I Too Young to Play The Blues' in 2006.

Jamie brings his ' natural ' feel of blues to Swingin Harpoon....
